Soccer Aid for Unicef is the world’s biggest celebrity football match, which features ex-professionals and celebrities raising money to give children the best start in life. We were approached to lead on the creative marketing campaign for the 2020 event. The campaign featured the likes of Usain Bolt, Olly Murs and Patrice Evra.

The Challenge

Leading the creative

A wide range of assets were created for both marketing materials online and in-print. The campaign included art-directing a photographic style, producing key visual art for a full billboard campaign across Manchester, livery artwork for trams, print-based adverts and a full suite of both static and animated digital marketing assets.

Inspiring the nation

We worked alongside the brand guidelines set by the Unicef brand team, to create a campaign which aimed to attract the family-based target audience of the event. We delivered an unmissable and truly moving campaign that helped inspire and galvanise the nation to get involved and help raise life-changing money for children across the world.

Play for every child

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event was ultimately played behind closed doors at Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium in September 2020. The money raised will help Unicef stop the spread of coronavirus and limit the impact on children’s lives around the world.
