So it’s officially Christmas time in the Vida office. We even have twinkly lights on the office plants thanks to Henry.
But enough about our office décor! As the year draws to a close and we start winding down for the holidays, we wanted to say a massive thanks to all of our absolutely amazing clients, friends and family for supporting us through what has been a year of quite a bit of change for us!
In January it was Ellen and Henry, and we’re off to our Christmas do today with two new incredible team members in tow.
And although this blog is going to get a little bit self-indulgent-y in talking about a couple of the things we’re most proud of from 2019, we absolutely couldn’t have done it without the support of YOU – the brilliant people we’re lucky enough to have surrounding us.
If you’re interested in reading about some of the cool stuff we’ve done this year, do carry on reading. But if you’re not that’s ok too because we’ve said all of the soppy stuff we wanted to at this point (well, nearly all of it).
So here goes!
We joined the Natwest accelerator programme
Way back in April (wow, that seems like forever ago.) we joined the Natwest Entrepreneur Accelerator programme and moved into our swanky new quayside office. In doing so, we entered a community of incredible, like-minded entrepreneurs, many of whom we’re now lucky enough to call friends.
Since then we’ve completed our first six-month cycle, and are halfway through our second. Thanks to the NatWest Hub team (and everyone we’ve met in the process!) for being a source of support, confidence and fun over the past 8 months!
We hired two absolute stars
As we’ve already mentioned, we doubled the size of our team this year! We hired Dan, our Graphic Designer, and Katie, our Content Creator, to support the creation of bespoke website design and content for our growing number of clients.
They’ve both brought fabulous skills but most of all their brilliant personalities into the team and we can’t wait to see how the team grows next year!
We rebranded and launched a new website
In October we decided it was about time for a fresh new look for the business so we had a little brand refresh and built a new website.
It was one of Dan’s first projects (sorry Dan, we threw you in at the deep end there!). And as we (and pretty much everyone else) refers to us as ‘Vida’, our new identity now reflects this.
If you’re reading this now you’re obviously looking at the new site. But if you haven’t yet had a proper look round, we’d love for you to do that now and let us know what you think of it?
We were shortlisted for multiple awards
In October we attended the Great British Entrepreneur Awards as finalists in the Young Entrepreneur and Creative Industries categories. Although we didn’t win it was fantastic to be shortlisted alongside some incredible business leaders, some of which we’re lucky enough to know personally.
Then in November we attended the Women in Business Awards, after Ellen was nominated in three categories; Best New Business, Young Entrepreneur and Women in STEM. We had a lovely evening celebrating alongside some inspirational women – a special congrats has to go to our friend Nicola Wood of the Wonderful Wig Company who won the Best New Business award!

This year we’ve worked on a fair few web projects, branding projects and marketing campaigns, with a little bit PR thrown in there too.
Every day we thank our lucky stars that we get to work with a bunch of kind, motivated, and inspirational individuals and teams. So once again, THANK YOU to all of our clients for all being amazing to work with.
